As people around the world are practicing social distancing and staying at home as much as possible in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we have seen some positive, light-hearted content being spread to support people during this uncertain time.
We can use this time of change and uncertainty to reevaluate what is important to us. For example, focusing on spending time with family or doing hobbies that you enjoy! Here is a list of some of the activities we have been doing at home, that are both productive and fun.
Learn something new
If staying at home means you have less study to do, you can find some interesting books or watch informative classes on YouTube or a platform such as Skillshare.
Declutter your digital storage
Because this activity is something we have procrastinated for a while, now is the perfect time to dedicate a couple hours to deleting unnecessary photos and optimising our digital storage space.
Exercise
Since going to the gym is not really an option anymore, there are plenty of workout videos you can watch on YouTube to work up a sweat!
Try new recipes
Baking sweet treats and delicious dinners is both a productive and rewarding use of your time. Plus, some yummy snacks will come in handy for the next activity we have listed!
Netflix party
Thanks to the internet, social distancing does not have to be lonely! Get a bunch of friends together, pick a movie or TV show to watch (that's the hard part!) and use Netflix Party to watch and chat together.
Enjoy nature
Fight your boredom by going outside in your garden or taking a short walk around your neighbourhood.
Make a vision board
You can also use this time to plan for the future and making a vision board with images and quotes that inspire you can be a helpful reminder to chase your goals.
Support others
In this strange time, it's important to support other people, even if you're social distancing. You can do this by donating to charities, ordering take-away food from local businesses and offering help to elderly and immuno-compromised people you know. Even small actions can have a big impact π
